Pumpkin Investigation

I am still sorting through bowling pictures and promise to post them soon. In the meantime, we did a math/science investigation with a pumpkin today. Mrs. Frankie, our student teacher from Coastal, taught this lesson to the kids. She did great and the kids loved it! First they held it and decided if it was heavy or light. They guessed how many lines were on the pumpkin and then counted them. They measured how tall it was and the width of it. The best part was cleaning it out and counting the seeds. Each kid got their hands dirty and helped clean it. Their faces were hilarious! We counted 595 seeds!! We couldn't believe how many seeds there were! Enjoy the pictures.
