Biographies

The kids are learning about writing biographies in writing. Who better to write about but George Washington and Abraham Lincoln? With President's Day being this past Monday, it worked out perfect! We have spent the week learning facts about both presidents. The kids picked which president they wanted to write a biography on. I was amazed that I had about half the glass choose Washington and half choose Lincoln. I will be taking pictures this week of some of their work, so check back! Ask your child to tell you something they learned about one or both of these past presidents. I was amazed at how much they could tell me about each one!

Valentine's Day

The class had a wonderful Valentine's Day yesterday. I forgot to take pictures of the kids passing out their valentines and reading them, sorry! They couldn't wait to hand them out though. We had an ice cream sundae party after lunch. The kids were able to top their ice cream with syrup, M&Ms and sprinkles.

Thank you for all the sweet gifts and valentines. I appreciate each of you sending in the items for the kids to enjoy their special Valentine's Day treat.

Brush Brush!

Friday students from the Horry Georgetown Tech dental program came and talked with the kids about the importance of good dental hygiene. The kids were able to practice flossing and brushing on a bigger mouth. They really enjoyed it and even got an activity book with a toothbrush and toothpaste to take home.

My 100 is....

For the 100th day of school, I gave each student the numbers 1, 0, and 0. They had to use the number 100 to make anything. They were very creative and made all sorts of things. We had wagons, handcuffs, eyeglasses, a golf course, skateboard, and so much more. Here are a few pictures!
