Yoga

We have been to yoga twice already. The kids are learning about breaths and how to stay calm. Hopefully the things they are learning will carry over to the classroom especially when its time for a test. It will be great for them to be able to stay calm and not get too nervous or anxious. They seem to be loving what they are doing in yoga. Here are some pictures.

Writing

We are learning to use complete sentences when we write. We are also learning to add details to our picture to help us add more detail in our writing. I keep telling the class if they can think it then they can say it, then they can write it. This helps us write a complete thought. We are creating a Me at School book. It will have a collection of stories about our favorite things at school. Here are some pictures of the kids writing their first story for their book.

Clay

Today we learned about how children learn in other countries and go to school. The kids were amazed to see kids in some countries walk or take a horse and wagon to school. We also learned about the letter m and the sound it makes. During science we explored clay. I gave each student a small ball of clay and had them feel it and see what they could do with it. We talked about clay being an earth material and compared the clay to rocks and sand.
